I am leading one of my monthly grand rounds at Carney Hospital. Grand rounds are an essential part of medical education and a long-honored tradition. While the structure of these events has changed a bit over the years, I used the rounds during my time at Carney Hospital to discuss particularly unique or challenging clinical problems in real-life patients. By encouraging discussion about these cases from physicians with different backgrounds and experiences, the grand rounds often served as the basis for clinical advances and research.
